Are US’ and Turkey’s goals irreconcilable?

By Namo Abdulla 15/2/2018
.
Diplomatic efforts to resolve the strained relationship between Ankara and Washington are ratcheting up. US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson arrived in Turkey on Thursday evening on a two-day visit that began with a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Turkish analysts, Ilter Turan, president of the International Political Science Association, and Burak Bilgehan Özpek, professor of international relations at TOBB University in Ankara, sat down with Rudaw’s Namo Abdulla to discuss the two countries’ goals in Syria and the war against terror.

The fat dude is BSing you. The AKP Regime is Islamist-Fascist in nature, and therefore has a degree of ideological kinship with al Qaida and ISIS. ... See the op-ed linked below in Pakistan's DAWN. Paracha was Socialist in his youth, but has moved to the center. He has a d*mned good analytical head on his shoulders. I have both of his books, and also have the book he reviews in that column. (Click on his name in the date-line at the top and you'll go his archive page on the website.) ... The relevant point is that Erdogan's redneck political base seems very much into "self-expression". Erdogan feeds them hyper-BS and they love it. The attention he gives them can, to a point, be compared to the "cultivation" of sexual arousal. It's flim-flam and double-talk, but that's what brings populist demagogues to power. ... https://www.dawn.com/news/1388693/smokers-corner-politics-of-self-expression

" US wants to dominate the world through proxies ", that is nonsense!! Furthermore Turkey's main aim in Afrin is to connect the territories under rebel control and create a belt along the border from Jarabous to the Idlib region probably 19 miles deep. Damascus is finally alarmed by it!

We are seeing the further disintegration of the ottoman empire before our very eyes, led full tilt by Erdogan.

Turkey is making a mountain out of a molehill. Border areas of Turkey, to the west of Euphrates (in Gaziantep, Sanliurfa provinces) are populated by Turks and Arabs way more than Kurds, and Kurdish party HDP did not succeed to win any seats west of Euphrates. So Turkish security concerns in west of Euphrates are propaganda to support Jihadi militias to ethnically cleanse the Jarabulus-Manbij-Bab-Azaz and now Afrin from its Kurd inhabitants who've lived there since Aryan Mitannis in 800 BC. Turkish Jihadist airforce destroyed 3000 years old Mitanni temple in Afrin which survived the hordes of Mongol savages, similar to ISIS which destroyed Palmyria ruins.
