In Pictures: Festival brings together Kurds from all four parts
The third annual cultural festival of the Omeri Kurdish tribe was held in the Maqlub Mountains, 61 kilometres northwest of Erbil.
Tribe members are spread across the four parts of greater Kurdistan, namely Iran, Iraq, Turkey, and Syria.
"We held the festival in Maqlub because most of the villages are from the Omeri tribe," an organizer told Rudaw.
The theme of this year’s event is strengthening relationships among tribe members both within the Kurdistan Region and across greater Kurdistan.
The location of the festival is moved every year: in 2016 it was held in Garmiyan, Sulaimani province and in 2017 it was held in the Erbil Plains.
