ERBIL, Kurdistan Region – Eighteen young Kurdish men and women were honored for their unique innovations in Erbil’s first ‘Thank You’ festival organized by the Institute for War and Peace Reporting. The event was held in the city’s Shanadar Park on Saturday.

The aim of the festival was to honor Kurdish society’s talented young people who have channeled their skills to overcome life challenges.

They were recognized for their diverse creations, which have boosted their self-confidence and inspired others never to give up no matter the obstacles placed before them.

Among the innovations on display were paintings, jewelry and decorative handicrafts, musical equipment and tools – all created by young Kurds.

The event was hosted in the park’s exhibition space for local art exhibitions, which is built to resemble the renowned Shanadar Cave.
