Rudaw correspondent Ala Shali spoke with Adama Dieng, who has served as the UN’s Special Adviser of the Secretary-General on the Prevention of Genocide since 2012. Dieng was born in Senegal. He was attending a conference at the European Parliament in Brussels entitled 'Post-ISIS Ninewa: The European Response.'
Dieng advocates for increased efforts to document ISIS atrocities and witness protection. He insists on further help by the international community to help investigate and protect Yezidi and other mass graves in Iraq. Dieng says he intends to travel to Iraq and the Kurdistan Region in the near future to help further efforts towards justice.
