ERBIL, Kurdistan Region - The president of the Kurdistan Region has congratulated the Iraqi prime minister on the liberation of Tikrit, vowing military cooperation between the Kurdish Peshmerga and Iraqi forces.

In a phone call on Saturday between KRG President Masoud Barzani and Iraqi Prime Minister Heider al-Abadi, the Kurdish leader praised the efforts of the Iraqi forces in defeating the Islamic State in the city and surrounding areas.

Abadi, in turn, congratulated Barzani for the latest Peshmerga advances against ISIS.

The two leaders reiterated their cooperation in the war against ISIS.

If in political and diplomatic terms, then this phone call should mean that informally Baghdad has congratulated Erbil for successful territorial reintegration of Southern Kurdistan, and that both neighboring sovereign partners have praised their bilateral relations, particularly in military cooperation between the Iraqi army and the Kurdistan Peshmerga forces in efforts to defeat the common enemy - the IS. Editorial team of RUDAW could go on with this and/or other views and opinions.

Why let Sunni Tribes back into lands and houses they stole??? They invited ISIS. Helped ISIS kill everyone non Sunni & non Arab and now they are allowed to return just like that? Tryly total and complete stupidity and actually helping the Arabization & genocide of minorities in Iraq. The same happened since the Christian calendar year 640: Wikipedia The Arabs of the town secretly assisted the Muslims when they besieged the town. The Muslims entered Tikrit in 640, it was from then considered as part of the Jazira province, it was later regarded as belonging to Iraq by Arab geographers. Tikrit is usually identified as the Hellenistic settlement Birtha Birtha (Greek: Βίρθα)[1] was an ancient fortress on the river Tigris, which was said to have been built by Alexander the Great. From the ninth century Christians began to migrate northwards. Many settled in Mosul and its environs, especially Bakhdida, as well as Tur Abdin, mainly due to restrictive measures taken by some Muslim governors.[8] The Christian community received a setback when the governor ordered the destruction of the main cathedral known popularly as the "Green Church" in 1089, the maphrian had to relocate to Mosul with many Christians. The town was also home to the Arab Christian tribe of Iyad. ..The Arabs of the town secretly assisted the Muslims when they besieged the town. Again, why let the Sunni Tribe Arabs back in?
