Unusually harsh drought dries up Iraqi agriculture

By Rudaw 5/7/2018
In southern Iraq, farmers are in dismay, unable or struggling to plant their crops this season.

The agriculture ministry last month suspended the cultivation of rice, corn and other cereals, which need large quantities of water.

The al-Mishkab region is about 25 kilometers from Najaf.
