Kurdistan Region imports flowers worth $50 million every year

By Rudaw 5/11/2017
-
Every year, $50 million worth of flowers are imported into the Kurdistan region, mainly from Holland, Turkey and Iran to be used for gifts or decoration.

In order to grow properly, flowers require a suitable environment, taking in all variables such as air, weather, soil and temperature.

Only about 20 percent of flowers are grown locally as the environment is not suitable for year round planting and growth, therefore some flower shops only produce and sell seasonal plants.

well you do need something to smile about my friend especially come the days of Victory and Independence,, the trick is to bring in the bulbs come fall and grow them indoors for everyday people and for buisness to have growing areas indoors . more or less home grown jobs could come of it
