ERBIL, Kurdistan Region – Five wounded Peshmerga were transferred to Germany for medical treatments and have been admitted to a military hospital in Berlin, according to the official website of the German military.

The Peshmerga, all in critical condition after fighting the Islamic State, or ISIS, were flown to Berlin last week along with a team of German doctors who examined them, the website said.

In a separate development, the Kurdistan Regional Government announced earlier it will open the first military hospital in Erbil to provide services to Peshmerga forces fighting ISIS in different parts of the region, a Ministry of Peshmerga official told Rudaw.

That was about time to open a military hospital in Erbil! This will save money, time and lives most likely. Kurdistan got good doctors with long experience to handle people in critical conditions, its just the health system in Kurdistan is not 100% good unfortunately.
