20 years a refugee: Iranian Kurds stage protest before UN office in Erbil

By Rudaw 29/8/2018
Fifteen families from Iranian Kurdistan gathered for the second day on Wednesday in front of the United Nations office in Erbil, demanding better housing and resettlement in a safe third country.

The families are refugees and have been living in Girdachal camp in the outskirts of Erbil for more than 20 years.

The families claim that on World Refugee Day the UN promised to provide for them better housing facilities but that weeks on the promise hasn't been kept.
