Spring has come to Kurdistan but it’s still snowing in the mountains

By Rudaw 2/4/2017
It is spring time in the Kurdistan Region, yet still snowing in the mountain resort of Haji Omeran, a township in the province of Erbil on the Kurdish-Iranian border.

The small town is home to one of the region’s biggest customs points.

Haji Omeran is a summer and winter tourist attraction with its picturesque snowy mountains beckoning thousands of visitors and thrill-seekers every year.

The area is also home to the Kurdistan Region’s highest mountain, Halgurd.
