In pictures: Harvesting gundelia in Kurdistan's Sharazour plains

By Sartip Othman 12/3/2018

In the Sharazour plains of Erbil province, some 1,000 people make their living during the brief gundelia harvest season.

Gundelia, kangir in Kurdish, ripen quicker in hotter areas, but the season is short. In the cooler areas, gundelia harvest season can extend into mid-April.

Kurdistan's spring brings a number of herbs that are harvested annually.
