Five people were rescued from a burning building on Erbil’s Runaki Street on Saturday. Nobody was killed in the incident and the cause remains unknown.
The fire reportedly broke out on the ground level, sending thick plumes of smoke billowing into the floors above.
Fire crews rescued three women and two men trapped on the upper floors of the building.
The Kurdistan regional capital has suffered several fire incidents in recent months, including blazes as two central bazaars, warehouses, and arms depots.
