Kurdistan Democratic Party-Iran announces shake-up

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region – The Kurdistan Democratic Party-Iran (KDP-I) held its 16th party congress on Saturday. The party adopted a resolution to further devolve power within its ranks.

“The project that I put forth to the former central committee of the Kurdistan Democratic Party-Iran for change in the structure and system of the party provides the opportunity for the distribution of power,” Mustafa Hijri, the head of the PDKI, told Rudaw.

The party, as a first step, has decided to restructure into two centers: the political center, which is tasked with laws, and the executive committee, which is tasked with managing the affairs of the party under the auspices of the political center.

The position of the general secretary, held by Hijri, has been abolished. The old system will no longer be in use, said Hijri.

“We want to pave the way for steps in the future for power to be shared more widely for the purpose of having more striving and liberty-loving Kurds in Rojhelat Kurdistan (Iranian Kurdistan) to become partners and helpers to our struggle,” Hijri added.

The chief believes the process should be gradual and incremental to prevent failures owing to a lack of experience.

Members of the party have considered the congress “a big shifting point” – one that will lead to a fundamental change in the workings of the party. The members are optimistic the project will be implemented.

It comes as Iranian Kurdish parties attempt to establish a coordination center for joint action in the future to respond more quickly to events in Iran and Iranian Kurdistan.

Actually the Kurdish Terrorists are admitting their gang has never been "democratic". They have been using that title to fool only themselves. "The members are optimistic the project will be implemented."! Why are they not convinced the project will be implemented. Being optimistic by a bunch of terrorists that something will change, is a clear sign they are being mislead by their terrorists "leadership" again. "It comes as Iranian Kurdish parties attempt to establish a coordination center for joint action in the future to respond more quickly to events in Iran and Iranian Kurdistan." They have a coordination center, the KRG regime. The KRG regime, gives them political space, trains them as Peshmegra, finances them and "coordinates" their activities with the US/Israel! What better supporter can they get?!

It is high time for KDP-I to come to its senses and abandon their terroristic activities sponsored by Saudi Arabia and Israel. The only way for Kurds outside Iran to be safe and prosper, is for them to gain support from Iran. KDP-I has the perfect opportunity to publicly announce their hostility towards Iran has changed and negotiate with Iran for a generalized pardon and their return to Iran as civilians. They should know with the acts of terror they have pulled on Iran from KRG territories, they will be forcefully ejected by KRG, if they don't change course.

Really, what acts of terror have been committed from the KRG side by KDPI? The zagros eagles who have been doing the attacks live and work inside rojhalat not in krg area. As for reapproaching iran, that was tried from the mid 90s up until 2013/2014. None of the promises of Rouhani or the Iranian government have ever been fully implemented, nor does it look like they will be. The KDPI and other groups(including baloch and ahwazi) should take this time where iran is in syria and yemen to launch a proactive joint campaign including civil unrest and if need be a armed response to strictly IRGC, quds, and iranian politicians. There is no common ground when one side attempts to rule on theocratic values but in reality simply steals the resources of minority areas and pockets the money for themselves.
