ERBIL, Kurdistan Region — The budget for Iraq for Fiscal Year 2019 officially became law on Monday with the signature of Iraqi President Barham Salih.

"His Excellency stressed the need to ensure basic services to people and start the construction and reconstruction phase, appreciating efforts from the government and parliament to prepare, study, and legislate the budget bill,” stated the president’s office.

Parliament passed the budget bill on January 23 before going into recess on January 29.

Lawmakers from the Kurdistan Region were satisfied with its language.

It contained measures guaranteeing the payment of Kurdistan Regional Government’s employees even if the KRG does not hand over the specified 250,000 bpd to Baghdad.

It also allowed a portion of the defense ministry's budget to go the Peshmerga ministry.

In 2014, faced with a financial crisis caused by a budget cut from Baghdad, falling oil prices, a costly war with ISIS, and hosting nearly 2 million displaced Iraqis, the KRG introduced a salary saving scheme.

The wildly unpopular measure slashed the salaries of state employees and delayed payments for months at a time.

With federal funding established, the KRG can more easily form a new cabinet following its parliamentary election on September 30.

Budget law?? with 200% corrution highest rank in the world? looks more like a temporary corruption excuse to strengthen illegal unconstitutional iranian proxies. Cover up at best for oil smuggling and drug dealing. Harry potter story

Kurdistan should not hand over the 250,000 barrels for at least 4 years since Kurdistan took care of 2,000,000 IDPs and refugees, all while fighting ISIS. Kurdistan made the most sacrifice in defeating ISIS and eradicating it. Kurdistan sacrificed their sons and daughters to protect Iraqis, Kurdistanis and others. Kurdistan was the reason Iraq didn’t become another Libya, Syria or Afghanistan. Iran, Turkey, Syria and Iraq want Kurdistan to be abolished. They have an inherit hatred for Kurds and Kurdistan. These tyrannical scum call Kurdistan Israel 2.0; That is a compliment. Rather a democracy than a dictatorship. Also, KDP and PUK need to unite the Peshmerge under the ministry of Peshmerge under the command of the President regardless of who it is. Rather have something than nothing. The first step is unity in Bashur then transparency. Without individual freedom there can be no liberty nor progress. Currently both the KDP and PUK are a militia not political parties. And Kurdistan is closer to failing than it is to succeeding. Unity is extremely important it makes politics easier at home and for ally’s.
