ERBIL, Kurdistan Region-The military wing of the Kurdistan Worker's Party (PKK), the People's Defence Force (HPG), claimed responsibility for downing a Turkish helicopter on Friday in a statement published on its website.

According to the statement, HPG forces succeeded in downing a "Cobra helicopter" belonging to the Turkish army in the southeast of the country, near the Iraqi border, early Friday morning.

The statement also added that HPG forces have a couple of bodies of "dead Turkish soldiers."

Turkish central command confirmed the "helicopter's crash" saying that it happened due to a technical failure. The military said that the helicopter was sent to the area to support its soldiers who were engaged in clashes with the PKK that saw six killed. The military has also confirmed the death of the two pilots, bringing their casualties in the incident to eight.

The Turkish military is also claiming to have killed six PKK guerillas in the clashes.

That is a picture of a uh-1 Iroquois which is a utility or transport helicopter. The ah-1 cobra is a two seat attack helicopter.

This is significant. Either Russia or Iran is now supplying the PKK with the MANPADS. MANPADS is what drove Russia out of Afghanistan.

All of those Turkish terrorist state killings, destruction's & barbarities are just for not letting the 25 millions of the Kurd's to read, write and even singing their own language, and the civilized nations are watching this latest unjust, immoral & barbaric Turkish war against the Kurd's and supporting them with out shame, which is sad.

They sure eradiated PKK alright! I bet the Turkish public forgot why they voted AKP, did they "deliver" order over chaos?. Let's see: 1/3 of the country is burning, attacks have quadrupled and they're about to officially enter a war in Syria. Their economy is struggling, the political climate never been worse and the country has turned into an authoritarian nightmare. But it's all good as long as Erdogan beats the drum of war for them and their useless militarily releases outrageous false number of casualties on their enemies to hide how bad they really are.
