Qori Qalla is a cave located in Iranian or East Kurdistan’s province of Kermanshah. The cave draws thousands of tourists every year, especially during the Kurdish festival of Newroz.

The history of the cave dates back to 65 million years, according to historians and archeologists.

The cave sprawls at the bottom of Shaho Mount on the road between the cities of Rwansar and Pawa.

The length of the cave is 12 kilometers with a depth of 3,140 meters — only 500 meters are accessible to visitors.

It was discovered in 1977 by a British team, and a French team discovered the other part of the cave the following year.

The depths of the pools in the cave can reach 14 meters. Temperatures in the cave during all four seasons are 7 to 11 Celsius.

There is also a natural pool in the cave and four waterfalls whose lengths are between 10 to 12 meters.

Part of the cave is known as the Beethoven Hall where you can hear different pieces of music if you touch the curtain-structure of the cave.

Perhaps the scariest part of the cave is a 220-meter long tunnel where a 3.5-meter deep stream of water flows.
