"Kurdistan is the cradle of civilizations," said Hassan Ahmed, an archaeologist, in a documentary produced by Rudaw about the history of archaeological sites in Duhok province.
The documentary explores the province's archaeological sites, featuring interviews with experts.
Qubahana School in Amedi is one of the sites featured in the documentary.
"This school is one of the oldest schools in the region and has been well preserved," Kovan Ihsan, another Kurdish archeologist, said.
Valentina Mozzoli, an archeologist at the University of Udine in Italy, spoke of the importance of archeological sites in the Kurdistan Region.
"They are part of the ancient Mesopotamian civilization," she said.
