ERBIL, Kurdistan Region - A doctor from Duhok province has developed a medicine that is believed to eliminate 95 percent of cervical cancer cells. It is the first time that the name Kurdistan is written on his research.
Hazhmat Abdulkhaliq, who teaches at Duhok College of General Medicine, explained to Rudaw's Luna Khalid his research and next steps.
He is seeking sponsorship from a pharmaceutical company to advance his research and its results, as the second phase of his research requires testing the plant in the form of a medicine on animals.
He explains that this type of plant exists in Nigeria and some Asian countries, but he has not yet found it in the Kurdistan Region.
