Analyst optimistic over future of Iran oil production

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region — Senior Commodity Analyst, Homayoun Falakshahi, expressed enthusiasm when asked about the future for Iranian oil production and its impact on the international market.

"In the months before the US elections, we saw exports averaging around 300-thousand barrels per day...a record low for Iran,” Falakshahi stated.

“The average since the US elections are around 700-thousand barrels per day, more than doubling  their exports compared to a year ago." He goes on to predict production to increase by 1.7 million barrels per day by the end of the year.

When asked by Rudaw's Mohammed Shekh Fatih if this is a realistic expectation that we can see come to fruition, Falakshahi clarifies, "I think we should expect this to happen. The question is when this will happen; will it be before the Iranian elections...or in the second half of this year."
