SHINGAL, Kurdistan Region- The US-led coalition took out several ISIS weapons depots northeast of Shingal town on Wednesday, Brigadier Izzadin Saado, told Rudaw on Wednesday.
”The coalition airstrikes have destroyed three ISIS weapons depots and more than 10 ISIS fighters have been hunted down,” said Saado, commander of the 12th Peshmerga brigade.
Saado said the weapons caches had contained light and heavy weapons.
Shingal has been the scene of intense fighting between Kurdish forces and extremists since last year. The area's predominantly Kurdish Yezidi population suffered massacres, rapes and kidnappings when ISIS overran their ancestral land.
