Turkish planes bomb Duhok’s Amedi district
ERBIL, Kurdistan Region – Turkish jets bombarded villages in the Amedi district of Duhok on Tuesday morning.
Brigadier Dler Zebari, commander of the border guards in Duhok, told Rudaw they had spotted two Turkish jets overhead.
Five villages - Rashava, Barnaje, Sarne, Bebo, and Zewa – as well as Mount Matin were shelled, Bewar Rashavay, a local, told Rudaw.
No casualties have been immediately reported.
Turkish armed forces are carrying out a ground and air campaign against the PKK in the Kurdistan Region.
On Tuesday, the army claimed to have killed four PKK fighters in operations against the PKK on Monday in the Kurdistan Region’s Zab and Avasin-Basyan front, and in Turkey’s Sirnak province.
They have not yet confirmed Tuesday’s shelling.
