Former Iraqi president Jalal Talabani’s brother dies in hospital
ERBIL, Kurdistan Region – Sheikh Jangi Talabani, the older brother of Iraq’s former president Jalal Talabani, died in hospital in Sulaimani on Thursday night due to illness, his family told Rudaw.
He was the father of Lahur Sheikh Jangi Talabani, the head of Kurdistan’s protection and information institution.
The funeral is planned in Sulaimani for Friday.
Jalal Talabani, 82, has been largely out of the political picture himself since suffering a stroke in December 2012.
