UNAMI chief discusses human rights, democracy in Rudaw visit

A United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) delegation led by mission chief Mohamed al-Hassan visited Rudaw Media Network’s headquarters in Erbil on Monday to discuss a range of topics.

The role of media in upholding and strengthening human rights within the framework of democracy was discussed in the meeting.

"Rudaw Media Network has operated professionally, impartially, and ethically since its inception and will continue to adhere to this path," Rudaw Media Network’s CEO Ako Mohammed told the delegation.

Ghulam Mohammed Isaczai, the UN’s deputy special representative for Iraq, Manoj Mathew, Principal Political Affairs Officer at UNAMI, and spokesperson Samir Ghattas were among the delegation.
