In the village of Dostak in Bardarash district, Duhok, a large number of storks have laid their nests, living in harmony with local residents.

According to residents of the village, some storks arrived in their village back in 1974, establishing their nests on electricity pylons - a positioning that has led to their nests catching fire twice since their arrival.

The hospitality and protectiveness of local residents have encouraged the storks to remained in the village, and their numbers are increasing by the day.

According to local villagers, there are now around 400 storks in the village, where they have laid 150 nests.
