“Two people, Abdullah Jaqsi and Hikmat Yousef, were cleaning weapons when one of the objects in their hands exploded and caused fire. It burnt the house completely,” Nashhat Salman, head of Duhok police’s media directorate, told Rudaw on Friday.
A vehicle, parked in the yard of the house, burnt down as well.
Jaqsi, 70, was a weapons dealer while Yousef, 35, worked at a bakery.
Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has struggled to control illegal weapons which usually cause killings.
