ISIS defeated in heavy attack on Khazir front
ERBIL, Kurdistan Region – Peshmerga fighters repelled an ISIS attack on Thursday that struck the Khazir front in northern Mosul province.
Brigadier general Faiaq Hassan, a Peshmerga commander, told Rudaw that ISIS militants launched the fierce nighttime assault on foot, but the Peshmerga were able to fight them off.
“They launched a multipronged assault, using heavy weapons. But now they are on the retreat,” said Hassan.
“Due to bad weather, we were not able to estimate the ISIS casualties, and the Peshmerga did not have any casualties,” he added.
