New poultry marketing company to open in Kurdistan Region
ERBIL, Kurdistan Region - The Kurdistan Region’s minister of agriculture announced on Sunday that efforts are underway to establish a marketing company to promote poultry products and reduce production costs in support of farmers.
In a presser she held, Begard Talabani explained that her ministry is “working to establish a big company in the Kurdistan Region for marketing purposes. It will reduce production costs and support the poultry project owners.”
Talabani added that the agriculture ministry has submitted a request to the Kurdistan Region’s Council of Ministers, as well as the offices of the prime minister and deputy prime minister, seeking authorization to set up the company. Once approved, the company will collaborate with poultry farmers and project owners to streamline production and distribution.
Talabani also highlighted that “the export of eggs has begun, which is one of the products provided by the [chicken farm] owners,” adding that “many other projects are underway” as well.
