7 dead in Turkish airstrikes in northern Kurdistan Region
DUHOK, Kurdistan Region – Turkish jets bombed inside the Kurdistan Region borders Tuesday night, killing 7 people in a village near Shiladze, near Amedi.
Turkish jets bombed the Amedi area again on Wednesday night, with no casualties reported.
Two jets bombed a village near the Shin River close to Shiladze, Rudaw’s Karwan Ali reported.
On Tuesday night, Mala Ahmed Sitaye, a local preacher, told Rudaw that three people from Shiladze were killed and a friend of theirs was missing.
Wednesday, the number of those killed rose to seven, Rudaw’s correspondent reported. The bodies of the deceased are in Shiladze.
Turkey frequently carries out airstrikes on alleged PKK locations in the Kurdistan Region's mountains where the PKK has its headquarters.
