Iraq oil minister to visit Kurdistan to discuss 2014 agreement
ERBIL, Kurdistan Region – Iraqi Oil Minister Abdul Jabbar Allibi said he would visit the Kurdistan Region soon to discuss a 2014 oil deal, especially relating to exports from Kirkuk via Kurdish pipelines.
“It’s in our schedule to soon visit the Kurdistan Region to solve part of the problem over oil exports from Kirkuk, which until recently were exported through the Kurdistan Region because of the damaged Kirkuk pipelines,” he told Rudaw TV.
“Since our understanding with the Kurdistan Region, part of the Kirkuk oil is exported via the Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) KRG pipelines.” He added
The minister met with the Iraqi parliament’s oil and gas committee on Wednesday, where he confirmed his upcoming visit to Kurdistan.
Rudaw Correspondent in Baghdad Bahman Hassan reported that the meeting decided to increase the volume of refined oil that Baghdad has been sending to the Kurdistan from next month. The current volume is a half million liters per day. The amount of the increase was not disclosed.
