ERBIL, Kurdistan Region - Rudaw Media Network’s Creative and Graphics Department has won a prestigious international award, earning Silver in the Conceptual Design – Graphic & Illustration category for the 2026 French Design Awards, according to the International Awards Associate (IAA).
The recognition was granted by the IAA, a New York-based award management organization that oversees the French Design Awards. The honor was awarded for Rudaw’s 12th Anniversary Visual Campaign, a commemorative design series celebrating the network’s 12-year journey of storytelling, public service, and cultural connection across the region, according to an announcement from the French Design Awards.
In its official letter to Rudaw, the French Design Awards’ committee wrote: “we are delighted to inform you that your exceptional works has emerged as a distinguished symbol within the design industry as a whole."
The committee added that following "a comprehensive evaluation" of Rudaw's materials, they have determined it to be "the epitome of excellence in the market, as your flawless concepts and innovative approaches consistently surpass expectations in every aspect."

It also added that, based on that evaluation, Rudaw was "honoured as the winner of the Silver in the Conceptual Design - Graphic & Illustration category for the 2026 French Design Awards."
The 12th Anniversary Visual Campaign was built around twelve symbolic illustrations, each representing a core value that has shaped Rudaw’s identity over the years - including truth, clarity, resilience, unity, progress, and pride, according to the announcement from the French Design Awards.
Instead of relying on a single hero visual, the Creative Department developed a comprehensive illustration system designed to function consistently across multiple platforms, from large-format screens to social media, while ensuring each piece retained its own distinct character, the announcement added.
The French Design Awards committee further stated in its letter: "We extend our sincere commendations for your remarkable achievement, which has enabled your efforts to be internationally celebrated and acknowledged."
The committee also expressed hope that Rudaw’s work would "continue to thrive in the industry, reaching even greater heights in the near future," and said it eagerly anticipates future submissions.
Mohammed Safar, Director of Rudaw Media Network’s Creative Department, dedicated the award to young creatives in the region.
"This award is dedicated to every creative young person in Kurdistan who shares our belief that creativity knows no bounds. We will continue our efforts to achieve even greater innovation and accomplishments in the near future," Safar said.
Rudaw’s Creative Department is comprised of a group of innovative designers and graphic artists who consistently produce cutting-edge and modern work. This global recognition serves as an inspiration for further innovation within the department.
With the support of the people of Kurdistan, Rudaw will continue to innovate and demonstrate the leadership and excellence of Kurdistan’s youth on both a regional and global level.
The International Awards Associate describes itself as a globally recognized award management services organization committed to elevating creative standards and pushing the boundaries of innovation. With participants from around the world, the organization aims to inspire, advance, and achieve excellence by highlighting outstanding work across industries.
