Aid worth over $930,000 donated during Rudaw campaign to be dispatched to Rojava

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region - Following a four-day fundraising campaign launched by Rudaw under the title Ranj Campaign for Western Kurdistan, more than 1.3 billion Iraqi dinars (approximately $932,000) worth of essential aid and medical supplies will be dispatched on Monday to the Kurdish region of northeast Syria (Rojava).

The Kurdish region has been under siege by Damascus for several days following a military offensive.

During the campaign, which began on Thursday night, presenters, guests, and participants gathered around fires while taking part in the program, donating, and collecting aid for Rojava - particularly for areas facing severe shortages of heating fuel, oil, blankets, food, and other basic necessities amid harsh winter conditions.

Recent attacks by the Syrian Arab Army and affiliated armed groups triggered a large-scale offensive on territories previously under the control of the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

The SDF later withdrew from several Arab-majority areas after local Arab tribes declined to maintain their allegiance to the Kurdish-led force.

As a result of the fighting, Kurdish areas have been left under siege, with the Kurdistan Region remaining the sole gateway for humanitarian assistance.

The aid will be transported to Rojava in a large convoy of trucks and distributed across multiple areas and cities throughout the region.
