Financial crisis cripples Erbil’s businesses

The Iraqi government’s recent decision to halt the payment of the Kurdistan Region’s share from the federal budget has severely affected businesses in the Region, including Erbil. Kurdistan has over one million civil servants. The Iraqi government claims that the Kurdish government has failed to transfer all oil and non-oil revenues. A high-profile Iraqi delegation is set to visit Erbil to resolve the issue.

Rudaw raises nearly $4.5 million in record time to aid for Kurdistan flood relief

Rudaw’s lead anchor Ranj Sangawi on Sunday raised more than 5.88 billion Iraqi dinars - nearly $4.5 million - from just over a dozen Kurdish businessmen in less than two hours to support victims of recent flooding in the Kurdistan Region, with the total expected to grow as the fundraising campaign continues.
