VIDEO: Wounded ISIS fighter kisses hand of Peshmerga commander
ERBIL, Kurdistan Region — Video footage taken by a Peshmerga soldier Wednesday appears to show a wounded ISIS fighter kissing the hand of a Peshmerga commander.
In the video, Bestun Kelwrani, the Peshmerga commander, is seen while giving water to the wounded ISIS fighter captured by the Peshmerga.
Kelwrani is shown speaking in Arabic telling the ISIS fighter, “Why did you do this to yourself? You do not feel pity for yourself? You are young, why should you be doing this? We are all Muslims.”
He also reassures the ISIS fighter that he will be taken to the hospital for more treatment.
Early Wednesday, Kurdish forces launched a large-scale offensive on ISIS strongholds in southern Kirkuk province, killing and capturing dozens of ISIS fighters.
