KRG announces no bird flu discovered, promises to take precautions
ERBIL, Kurdistan Region - The KRG Health Ministry made it clear on Sunday that no bird flu cases have been discovered in the Kurdistan Region since the beginning of 2018 and said they would take protective measures against the deadly virus.
According to the announcement, in Sunday's meeting a high committee tasked with controlling the flu put forward measures to disallow the spread of the symptom and its threats to the Region.
The meeting committed the ministry to find solutions to the disease if spread and dedicate places to quarantine those affected by the disease.
The Health Ministry also urged coordination with the agriculture ministry and its relevant departments such as veterinary medicine to prevent the spread of symptom among poultry.
The KRG has in the past taken measures to prevent the outbreak of bird flu in the Kurdistan Region.
