Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on Sunday confirmed the killing of its intelligence chief Mohammad Kazemi, his deputy Hassan Mohaqiq and a third intelligence officer, Mohsen Bagheri, in an “Israeli strike.”
In a statement relayed by Iran’s state-run news agency (IRNA), the IRGC said that Israel had “revealed its vile and terrorist identity” by “assassinating and martyring” three IRGC intelligence commanders, while also targeting “civilians in residential areas.”
The announcement came after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told Fox News earlier in the day, “I can tell you that moments ago, we got their [Iran’s] chief intelligence officer and his deputy in Tehran.”
The IRGC also said its Aerospace Forces had launched a fresh wave of missile strikes on Israeli intelligence facilities in response, describing the action as a “crushing response” to the targeted killings.
The statement concluded with a warning that “effective and targeted operations against the vital targets of this fake [Israeli] regime will continue until its complete destruction.”

Israeli forces carried out the “longest-range” strike targeting an Iranian refueling aircraft at an airport in the northeastern Iranian city of Mashhad on Sunday.
In a statement on X, the Israeli Air Force said they “struck an Iranian refueling aircraft at the Shahid Hasheminejad Airport in Mashhad “approximately 2,300 kilometers from Israel.”
The IAF described the operation as “the longest-range strike conducted” since the beginning of the escalation between Israel and Iran on Friday, adding that it is working “to establish aerial superiority over Iranian airspace.”
Shortly after the strike, Iranian semi-official media reported explosions in Mashhad.
Tasnim news agency, affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), reported that “Iranian air defenses in Mashhad were activated” near the airport and “successfully intercepted and destroyed all hostile targets.”
The report added that no damage was inflicted on the airport’s infrastructure or runways.
Earlier on Sunday, Tasnim also reported that Iranian defense systems had repelled an Israeli drone attack in the city of Qom.

Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ al-Sudani on Sunday chaired an emergency session of the Ministerial Council for National Security, focusing on the escalating regional tensions and efforts to maintain Iraq’s internal stability and sovereignty.
The council “affirmed Iraq’s solidarity with the Islamic Republic of Iran in the face of the blatant Zionist aggression aimed at expanding the conflict and destabilizing regional and international security,” according to Sabah al-Numan, spokesperson for the Iraqi premier.
Sudani emphasized the importance of “taking all necessary measures to safeguard Iraq’s internal security,” adding that the prime minister had already instructed the foreign ministry to take action through international and United Nations institutions “to safeguard Iraq’s sovereignty and to reject the violations” by Israel.
He also called for the mobilization of efforts to repatriate Iraqi citizens stranded across the region, including in Iran, and stressed the state’s ability to address emerging threats.
The council further underscored the need to pursue “legal action against those who incite sedition and spread false information,” particularly those seeking to destabilize Iraq amid the ongoing regional crisis.

Trump urges Iran, Israel to 'make a deal,' end hostilities
US President Donald Trump on Sunday reiterated his call for Iran and Israel to end hostilities, urging both sides to “make a deal” and emphasizing his role in the effort.
Posting on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump said, “Iran and Israel should make a deal and we will make a deal.
“We will have peace, soon, between Israel and Iran,” he added pointing to the “many calls and meetings now taking place.” Attributing the push to himself, he added, “I do a lot and never get credit... but that is ok.”
This is the second time the US President has urged for peace between Iran and Israel in the past two days.
On Saturday he noted to Russian President Vladimir Putin in a phone call that “this war in Israel-Iran should end."
"The call lasted approximately 1 hour. He [Putin] feels, as do I, this war in Israel-Iran should end, to which I explained, his war should also end," Trump added in the previous statement on Truth Social.

Israel on Friday conducted what it called a “preemptive strike” targeting Iranian nuclear facilities and senior military commanders, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu saying the operation, dubbed Rising Lion, aimed to “roll back the Iranian threat to Israel’s very survival,” warning that it could continue for days.
Iran responded with counter-strikes, firing barrages of ballistic missiles at Israel as the Iron Dome aerial defense system scrambled to destroy Iranian missiles. The attacks came after Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei delivered a speech, vowing to bring Israel “to ruin.”
The attacks have since intensified, and on early Sunday, Iranian ballistic missile strikes on Tel Aviv killed at least eight people and injured around 200, according to Israeli emergency services.
In the latest Iranian toll, last updated after Israel’s first wave of strikes, Iran’s ambassador to the UN said 78 people were killed and 320 others wounded.
US President Donald Trump said that Washington “had nothing to do with the attack on Iran, tonight,” warning Tehran against attacking US personnel.
“If we are attacked in any way, shape or form by Iran, the full strength and might of the U.S. Armed Forces will come down on you at levels never seen before,” Trump stressed, in a post on his Truth Social platform.
“However, we can easily get a deal done between Iran and Israel, and end this bloody conflict!” he added.
On Saturday, a sixth round of nuclear talks between Iran and Israel, scheduled for Sunday, was canceled.
