Military bases in Kermanshah heavily bombed in Rojhelat
ERBIL, Kurdistan Region - Since early Thursday morning, US and Israeli forces have targeted dozens of military and security bases belonging to the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kurdish provinces using drones, missiles, and aircraft.
What distinguishes Thursday’s attacks from the previous days in western Iran (Rojhelat) is that a larger number of army (Artesh) bases were targeted on Thursday.
West Azerbaijan province
On Thursday night, an army base near the city of Piranshahr was targeted with missiles. Several bases of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in the border area of Kani Khoda, along the border between Rojhelat and Kurdistan Region, were also bombed.
Kermanshah province
On Thursday night in the city of Kermanshah, the city’s police command headquarters was targeted with missiles. Attacks on security and military bases in the city continued throughout the day.
One of the sites bombed on Thursday evening was a military base in the Chamchamal area of Sulaimani province in the Kurdistan Region near the city of Bisotun in Kermanshah in Rojhelat.
Earlier on Thursday, two police bases and several targets around the Kermanshah oil field were bombed again. According to sources in Kermanshah, the main headquarters of the IRGC, the Intelligence Directorate, as well as the government radio and television administration are located near that field.
A building in the Sixth Bahman neighborhood of Kermanshah was also targeted.
On Thursday night, the Hemat military base in Ravansar, Kermanshah province, was also bombed.
On Thursday morning, an IRGC base on the outskirts of Sonqor in Kermanshah province was also targeted. The Iranian border guard command center in the city of Qasr-e Shirin was also struck Thursday morning.
By noon Thursday, three military centers in the city of Kangavar in Kermanshah province were also bombed. According to information, one of the sites was a weapons and ammunition depot.
Security and military bases in the city of Javanrud were once again bombed. According to local information, the command center and main police base in the city were targeted.
Ilam province
Around 6:30 am local time, the Iranian police command center on the outskirts of the city of Eyvan in Ilam province was bombed.
State media in Ilam reported that because “necessary precautions had been taken,” the attack caused no fatalities, with only six people injured, and the injured are in stable condition.
Lorestan province
On Thursday, several locations in the city of Khorramabad and surrounding areas were targeted. One of the locations was the Lorestan provincial police command.
The director of social security for Lorestan province said that a health center affiliated with the social security organization was also damaged in the attacks.
By noon Thursday, the police command center in the city of Nurabad, Lorestan province, was also targeted by a drone.
Sanandaj province
In the city of Sanandaj (Sna), from late Wednesday night until Thursday noon, the Imam Ali IRGC base in the Doshan area, the government radio and television center, the police command headquarters, a police base in the Saadi Township neighborhood, and several other unspecified targets were struck.
A military base in the village of Gashki, belonging to Kamyarans in Sanandaj province, was also targeted.
On Thursday, aircraft circled several times over the skies of the city of Divandarreh in Sanandaj province, but no location in the city has been bombed so far.
So far, government and military institutions in Rojhelat have not released casualty figures from the US and Israeli attacks.
According to reports from human rights organizations, a large number of Iranian forces have been killed and wounded in the attacks, but the exact number of casualties is still unknown.
Among the victims of the attacks are also civilians.
