ERBIL, Kurdistan Region - Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said Monday that its intelligence chief, Brigadier General Majid Khademi, was killed, as fighting with the US and Israel continues.

The IRGC, in a statement, confirmed that Khademi was killed in US-Israeli attacks “at dawn today.”

The development comes amid Iran’s ongoing war with the United States and Israel, which began on February 28 and has seen a series of high-profile killings of Iranian officials, including the country’s longtime Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

In mid-March, Iran confirmed that its security chief, Ali Larijani, was killed, following earlier Israeli claims that he had died in an airstrike. A day before Tehran’s confirmation, the Israeli military said it had also targeted and “eliminated” Gholamreza Soleimani, commander of the Basij, a large volunteer paramilitary force under the IRGC.

US Central Command (CENTCOM) said on Thursday that its forces have struck more than 12,300 targets across Iran since the start of the campaign, adding that more than 155 Iranian vessels have been damaged or destroyed.

In response, Tehran has launched thousands of drone and missile strikes across the Middle East, targeting alleged US assets in the region, particularly in Gulf Arab states, as well as carrying out retaliatory attacks against Israel.

Tehran has also restricted traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, impacting global trade and energy markets.

US President Donald Trump said Sunday that the United States could target Iranian power plants and bridges. “Open the Fuckin’ Strait, you crazy bastards, or you’ll be living in Hell,” he said on his Truth Social platform. In a follow-up post, he added, “Tuesday, 8:00 P.M. Eastern Time!” without providing further details.
