ERBIL, Kurdistan Region - On the eighth day of the US–Israel war against the Islamic Republic of Iran, Tehran is under heavy bombardment and in the past 24 hours dozens of intense attacks have been carried out on the Iranian capital.
Iran’s official institutions do not publish the names of the locations being bombed or the number of casualties, but residents of the cities themselves record videos of the bombardments and publish information about the places being targeted.
Tehran and its surroundings
Since the early morning of Saturday, Israeli aircraft have continuously flown over the skies of Tehran and at times missiles have also been used to attack military bases and other targets in the Iranian capital.
On Saturday night, the Baghershahr refinery in southern Tehran and several targets in the neighborhoods of Tehransar, Jeyhun, Hashemi, and Azadi were bombed.
A resident of Tehran told Rudaw on Saturday night: “Since Friday evening, various locations across the city of Tehran have been continuously attacked with aircraft and missiles.” He also said: “Since the start of the war, Tehran and its surroundings have never been targeted like they have in these 24 hours.”
Since early this morning, the Iranian Army Air Force bases near Mehrabad Airport, the Ekbatan Aviation Industrial Complex, the Esteghlal Industrial Complex, a Basij base on Kashan Street, the Army aviation base of the infantry forces in the Koohak neighborhood, military and defense industrial complexes in the Parchin area southeast of Tehran, and several targets in the neighborhoods of Marzdaran, Rah-Ahan Town, Abshar, Hor Square, Sepah Street, the heights of District 22 and upper Chitgar, Tehransar, and Nazi Abad have been bombed.

No videos
Iranian police on Saturday sent a text message to the public warning about sending information and filming the locations where Iranian forces are stationed, and described those who do so as “enemy mercenaries.” The message was sent after US and Israeli forces targeted locations that are not officially military or security sites, but since the start of the war Iranian security and military forces have used and stayed in them.
Iran’s Judiciary Authority has also banned the publication of images and videos of the places targeted by the United States and Israel. The judiciary’s media center announced on Saturday that all media outlets, pages, and social media channels have been warned not to publish information, images, or videos, saying that “this act is against Iran’s national security.”
Earlier, the Israeli military had also banned filming and publishing videos of places struck by Iranian missiles and drones inside Israel.
Different messages from Iran to regional countries
On Saturday morning, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian announced that during a meeting of the temporary leadership council of Iran, it was decided that Iranian forces will no longer attack neighboring and regional countries.
After Pezeshkian’s remarks, the command of Iran’s armed forces and the head of Iran’s judiciary, who is also a member of the temporary leadership council, said that attacks on US bases in regional countries will continue if they are used to attack Iran.
Gholam-Hossein Mohseni Ejei, head of the judiciary and one of the three members of Iran’s leadership council, said they will attack any location from which attacks are carried out against Iran.
The spokesperson of the Khatam al-Anbiya headquarters also issued a statement saying that they will show no leniency toward the United States and Israel, and any country that is used to attack Iran will have the bases inside that country targeted.
Ebrahim Zolfaqari said they will not attack countries that have not allowed the United States and Israel to use their land, sea, or airspace to attack Iran.
According to the spokesperson of the Khatam al-Anbiya headquarters, on Saturday several US bases in regional countries were also bombed.
The Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters is the highest military decision-making body in Iran, responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising the operations of the country’s different military forces.
