Iran's Basiji commander claims U.S. subordinates to Iran in Middle East
The commander of Iran's paramilitary Basiji group Mohammad Reza Naqdi claimed, at an anniversary commemorating the 1979 Islamic Revolution, that the United States has become subordinated by Iran in the region, the complete reverse to the situation which he claims existed before 1979.
"It is impossible to compare Iran [today] to Iran under the Shah's rule, since back then, Iran was subordinate to the American administration, while today, the United States subordinates to Iran's dominance in the Middle East and it cannot act in the region without getting the approval of the Supreme Leader of Iran," Naqdi said according to The Jerusalem Post.
The last Shah has often been depicted as an agent or lackey of the U.S. by the current Iranian regime.
Naqdi continued to add to his boastful claimed by saying that while "American officials visit the Middle East secretly, images of Qassem Soleimani, the commander of Iran's Quds Force, spread across the streets in Yemen, Lebanon, Iraq and Syria."
Naqdi also declared that Iran "will not make any compromises with our enemies in the Middle East."
