Over 100,000 civilian units targeted, nearly 21,000 injured in Iran war: Iranian Red Crescent

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region - The Iranian Red Crescent said Monday that more than 105,000 civilian units have been targeted since the onset of the US-Israeli joint military campaign against Iran in late February, with widespread destruction reported across residential areas, businesses and critical infrastructure. The organization added that civilian injuries have also neared 21,000.

According to the latest figures released by the Red Crescent, over 105,000 civilian units have been targeted. Reported damage includes more than 83,000 residential units, 21,000 commercial properties, 297 health centers, and 600 educational facilities.

The organization further reported that it has also suffered losses, with 18 of its centers damaged during the conflict, leaving two staff members killed and 17 others injured.

Civilian injuries have also risen to nearly 21,000, including 1,731 minors and 4,163 women, the Iranian Red Crescent added, noting that 214 children and 244 women have been killed so far, including two pregnant women.

While Iranian authorities have not released an updated overall casualty toll in recent days, the US-based Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) reported on Saturday that at least 3,461 people have been killed. This includes 1,551 civilians - among them at least 236 children - as well as 1,208 military personnel and 702 individuals whose status remains unclassified.

The US and Israel on February 28 launched a coordinated military campaign against Iran, with US Central Command (CENTCOM) reporting on Saturday that more than 11,000 targets across Iran have been struck so far.

In response, Tehran has carried out thousands of drone and missile strikes across the Middle East, targeting alleged US assets in the region - particularly in Gulf Arab states - as well as launching retaliatory attacks against Israel.
