Iraqi army claims to capture hundreds of IEDs north of Baghdad

ERBIL, Kurdistan  Region — The Baghdad Operations command announced on Tuesday its soldiers had killed three ISIS militants and captured 151 improvised explosive devices (IEDs) north of Baghdad.
 
“The Iraqi army’s 54th Brigade captured a car bomb and munitions factory as well as 151 improvised bombs,” said the command in a statement.
 
“In the area of Albu Sauda, Iraqi security forces fought off an ISIS assault killing two militants and wounding another,” the statement added.
 
Also claimed in the statement, the Iraqi army successfully carried out a military campaign to hunt down three wanted militants and destroy their vehicles.
 
An Iraqi army quick reaction force (QRF) destroyed an ISIS bomb-rigged bulldozer in the area of Maarz in western Baghdad and defused 17 landmines in the area, also according to the statement.
