ERBIL, Kurdistan Region — Dozens of people have reportedly been killed and wounded in two suicide bomb attacks in Baghdad, according to a Rudaw reporter on Thursday.

Bahman Hassan, a Rudaw correspondent in Baghdad, said that according to security sources many people were killed and wounded, but he did not cite an official figure.

Hassan added that the suicide bombers were wearing explosive belts. One of them blew himself up in Bab Al-Sharqi, a neighborhood in central Baghdad, and the other one in Wathba Square.

Iraq experiences near-daily bombings that are often claimed by the Islamic State, which seized a large swath of the country during an offensive last year.
