ISIS issues order for arrest of its missing finance minister

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region – ISIS has issued an order to all its fighters to arrest the group's finance minister who is missing and believed to have defected, says a Kurdish official.

Saeed Mamuzini, a Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) official for Mosul afffairs told Rudaw on Wednesday that ISIS's head of Zakat Diwan Abu Tabark has been missing for three days and the group is looking for him.

“Daesh [ISIS] organization has alerted its checkpoints in neighborhoods of the left side of Mosul to capture Abu Tabarak who has gone missing for three days,” said Mamuzini.

Citing information he obtained from inside Mosul, Mamuzini said that ISIS militants had stormed Abu Tabarak's home in the city but failed to find him.

ISIS has executed its members, including senior leaders, in the past on charges of espionage, attempt to escape or plotting coups.

The group has been on the retreat from the eastern part of Mosul to its western side of the Tigris River in recent weeks as Iraqi troops continue to advance into the city in a push to drive out the radical group.
