BAGHDAD, Iraq - Iraq’s defense ministry announced that its jet fighters had carried out intense bombing campaigns against the Islamic State group (ISIS) on several fronts, killing dozens of militants.

A statement said Iraqi jets had targeted ISIS on the Dijla, Anbar and Baiji fronts. The ministry released video footage showing dead jihadi fighters.

“Eagles of the Iraqi air force from the Anbar, Dijla and Baiji operation units have destroyed several ISIS positions, killing many militants of the Islamic State,” the ministry said in a statement.

It added that the airstrikes had also destroyed many ready-to-use car bombs that were meant to target Iraqi army convoys.
