Mosul University prevents male, female student interaction
ERBIL, Kurdistan Region - Mosul University authorities have assigned security forces to prevent male and female student interaction in “public spaces” on campus, according to a local news blog.
The University has assigned “a special unit to prevent male students from walking, sitting or talking to female students in public spaces in the uni[veristy].Students told us that the dean of the university tour the university from time to time searching for couples,” tweeted Mosul Eye, blog which has been reporting on Mosul since ISIS took control of the city in 2014.

When the Sunni city fell to ISIS the Islamic group imposed Islamic Sharia Law on the resident of the city, including students of Mosul University. Integration of boys and girls was banned by ISIS.
Mosul Eye, founded by the historian Omar Mohammed, added that the “censorship police” of the university has been granted authority to revoke the ID of any students who do not abide by this decision, comparing it to ISIS’s Hisbah that imposed full Sharia Law on student campuses.
