ERBIL, Kurdistan Region - A suspected Turkish drone on Saturday targeted an area in Hasaka province, northeast Syria (Rojava), injuring at least one civilian.

The drone struck a stationary car on a road separating the sub-districts of Amuda and al-Darbasiyah, according to Hawar News Agency (ANHA).

Rojava Information Center (RIC), affiliated with the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) said that the injured civilian was transported to Amuda hospital.

The car was reportedly parked in front of offices of the Community Protection Forces (HPC), whom RIC describes as "a civilian neighborhood defense force."

On Tuesday, another suspected Turkish drone struck the same area, killing a child and injuring others.

Hasaka has frequently been the location of attacks by Turkey, with civilians and security forces bearing the brunt of the attacks.

Several villages in northern Hasaka were targeted on Monday when Turkish artillery shelled the area, damaging numerous buildings.

Alleged Turkish drones around a week ago targeted a Women's Protection Units (YPJ) vehicle in al-Darbasiyah, killing one person.

According to the SDF's annual report in January, Rojava saw 47 Turkish ground attacks and incursion attempts, as well as 89 drone offensives over the past year, killing and injuring hundreds.

Turkey has conducted three military operations in northern Syria since 2016, two of which were against Kurdish fighters who Ankara considers a branch of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and a threat to its national security. It has previously threatened to launch a new offensive in Rojava.
