Woman injured in explosion in Damascus: Syrian media
ERBIL, Kurdistan Region - A woman was injured in an explosion in Damascus on Friday, according to Syrian media.
The explosion occurred in the al-Mazzeh area of the capital city, the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported.
The blast was caused by “an attack by several unknown persons who targeted a house,” state-run al-Ikhbariya TV cited a security source as saying.
The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported “three explosions" in the area, which it said "overlooks the Presidential Palace road.”
Images circulated by Syrian official television showed a hole in the wall of a house, suggesting damage from a missile or bullet.
Al-Mazzeh is a strategically significant area that includes the Mazzeh Air Base, a former Syrian Air Force installation. The area has been repeatedly targeted by Israeli airstrikes since 2023, continuing into 2025.
