Israel strikes entrance of Syrian military headquarters in Damascus

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region - The Israeli military on Wednesday announced that it had struck the entrance of a Syrian military headquarters in the capital, Damascus.

In a statement posted on X, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said, “We struck the entrance of the Syrian regime's military headquarters in the area of Damascus in Syria.”

The IDF noted that it continues to monitor the situation closely, particularly the actions of the Syrian regime against Druze civilians in southern Syria’s Suwayda province. “In accordance with directives from the political echelon, the IDF is striking in the area and remains prepared for various scenarios,” the statement added.

Meanwhile, Syria’s state-run news agency (SANA) reported that “an explosion was heard in Damascus,” stating that the nature of the incident is still being verified.
