Explosion in Turkish-held Afrin kills 11: state media
ERBIL, Kurdistan Region – An explosion in the Kurdish city of Afrin killed 11 people on Sunday night, the Turkish state-run Anadolu Agency reported.
The explosion happened when the Turkish-backed Free Syrian Army (FSA) was conducting an explosives clearing operation inside a four-story building in the Ahmed Sahavi neighborhood of the city.
The Turkish army claims the explosion killed seven civilians and four FSA fighters.

Thirteen FSA fighters were killed and another 25 injured on Sunday, the UK-based conflict monitor Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported.
The Turkish army and its Syrian proxies took control of the Kurdish city on Sunday morning after an eight-week military operation against the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG).
The Kurdish forces said they withdrew from Afrin to prevent further harm to the civilians while vowing to engage in hit-and-run attacks against Turkish army and the Syrian opposition forces.
