In this episode of Unfinished Stories, Hevidar Ahmed visits Damascus to explore one of the biggest threats facing the country following the fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime: a sectarian war.

Sunni rebels, led by the Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), on December 8 toppled the Shiite-led regime. HTS commanders and officials told Rudaw that the rule of Shiites is over. Shiites fear that Syria is no longer a home for them.

US civilian killed in Syria ambush identified as Christian from Kurdistan Region

The American civilian killed in an ambush on Saturday alongside two US troops in central Syria was a Christian from the Kurdistan Region working with US forces, a US military source in Syria told Rudaw, adding that the attack took place during a meeting with Syrian defense ministry-affiliated forces in Homs province.
